Birmingham VA Medical Center Home Oxygen and Ventilator Services - Bridge Contract

Background
The Birmingham VA Medical Center is seeking to continue Home Oxygen and Ventilator Services through a bridge contract with TransOx, Inc. This requirement arises due to unforeseen delays in awarding a new long-term contract, which is pending GAO recommended actions and source selection decisions.

The goal of this contract is to prevent a break in services that could potentially harm beneficiaries currently receiving these essential services.

Work Details
The Contractor shall provide home oxygen and ventilator services as specified in the Schedule of Supplies/Services. Responsibilities include:
1) Immediate notification to the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) regarding any adverse actions by regulatory agencies;
2) Full responsibility for personnel policies including worker’s compensation and professional liability insurance;
3) Compliance with VA Home Oxygen Policies provided upon award;
4) Provision of full-service operations 24/7, including emergency service calls;
5) Submission of invoices that adhere to the CLIN structure;
6) Coordination with the incumbent contractor during a transition period for equipment replacement within 90 days post-award;
7) Compliance with Joint Commission standards and cooperation during JC survey activities;
8) Adherence to Federal privacy and confidentiality statutes.
