Biological Safety Cabinet, Small Animal Isolator, and Chemical Fume Hood Services   2

Background
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), specifically the Animal Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) and the National Veterinary Services Laboratories (NVSL), is seeking contractors to provide certification, maintenance, and repair services for Biological Safety Cabinets (BSC), HEPA Filtered Small Animal Isolators, and Chemical Fume Hoods.

The goal of this contract is to ensure that all equipment meets safety standards and operates effectively within the facilities located at various sites in Ames, Iowa. The USDA is an agency of the Federal Government and is tax-exempt.

Work Details
The contractor will perform annual certification, maintenance, and repair services for approximately 315 BSCs, HEPA filtered small animal isolators, and 60 chemical fume hoods located at the National Centers for Animal Health (NCAH).

Services include:
- conducting 10 scheduled site visits and up to 10 emergency visits per year;
- coordinating with the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) prior to service dates;
- ensuring all work is performed during normal business hours;
- providing certifications according to NSF/ANSI standards;
- submitting certification reports within 15 business days after completion;
- disabling any equipment that fails certification until repairs are made;
- maintaining records of all certifications including posting certification stickers on equipment.

The contractor must also provide necessary labor rates, material markup percentages for maintenance, decontamination, repairs, and decommissioning materials.

Period of Performance
The contract period of performance is from October 1, 2025, to September 30, 2030.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at various locations in Ames, Iowa including:
- 1920 Dayton Avenue, Ames, IA 50010;
- 1015 N. University Blvd, Ames, IA 50011;
- 716 Farm House Lane, Ames, IA 50011.
