Background
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is issuing this solicitation for the procurement of alfalfa hay to support the Wild Horse and Burro Program. The goal of this contract is to provide high-quality forage for the care and management of wild horses and burros, ensuring their health and well-being.

Work Details
The contractor is required to deliver approximately 500 tons of alfalfa hay from the 2024 crop, specifically from the 2nd or 3rd cutting. The specifications are as follows:

- Quantity: 500 tons

- Bales: 80 to 100 pound 2-strand bales; three-strand bales not exceeding 120 pounds are also acceptable.

- Quality: Hay must be domestically grown, fine stemmed, leafy-green, with minimal weeds or cheat grass. A mix of alfalfa and grass is acceptable, with no more than 15% grass.

- Protein Content: Cured protein range must be between 15% to 18%.

- Condition: Hay must be free of mold, rain, or snow damage.

- Delivery: Hay shall be delivered in amounts ranging from 100 tons to 130 tons upon request by the government with a minimum seven-day advance notice.

- Delivery Location: Wild Horse and Burro Corrals at 12449 South Pleasant Valley Road, Boise, ID 83705. A State Certified Weight Ticket must be provided upon delivery. Inspection may occur prior to delivery if requested by BLM representatives.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this contract is from October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2025.

Place of Performance
The geographic location for delivery is at the Bureau of Land Management's Wild Horse and Burro Corrals located at 12449 South Pleasant Valley Road, Boise, Idaho 83705.
