Basic Ordering Agreement in Support of DDG 51 Class Destroyer Post Shakedown Availability Planning and Support Services   2

Background
The Naval Sea Systems Command, Shipbuilding Contracts Division (SEA 022) is issuing a Class Justification and Approval (CJ&A) for the award of a Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) on a sole source basis to Huntington Ingalls Corporation (HII Ingalls) for Post Shakedown Availability (PSA) Class Planning and Support Services for seven DDG 51 Class Destroyers.

This action is necessary to ensure timely support for the ships built by HII Ingalls, as they possess unique knowledge of each ship's configuration and requirements. The authority to act under this CJ&A expires with the Shipbuilding and Conversion, Navy (SCN) Obligation Work Limiting Date (OWLD) of DDG 139, currently set for May 2032.

Work Details
The contract involves PSA Class Planning Support for seven DDG 51 Class Destroyers: DDG 128, DDG 129, DDG 131, DDG 133, DDG 135, DDG 137, and DDG 139. The planning will commence between one and three months prior to ship delivery and will conclude at the SCN OWLD. The services required include:
- Competent performance of PSA Class Planning and Support specific to each ship built by HII Ingalls.
- Addressing emergent availability during the post-delivery period within a short timeframe to avoid deployment delays.
- Utilizing HII Ingalls' unique knowledge of construction methodology and design details necessary for effective planning.
