Background
The Base Infrastructure Modernization team of the Air Force is hosting an Industry Day to provide information and answer questions regarding the upcoming contract. The contract will involve modernizing infrastructure and will be a stand-alone solicitation, not issued under an existing vehicle. The acquisition is an enterprise-wide program, and there will be no opportunity for bases to opt out of the program. The Services pool will be full-and-open, while the Hardware pool will be set aside exclusively for 8(a) concerns.

Work Details
The contract will involve various tasks related to infrastructure modernization, including material purchases, prior experience questionnaire review, Bidder's Library releases, wireless and wired infrastructure maintenance, price evaluation for Task Orders, small business track requirements, small business subcontracting requirements, decision-making on base level hardware and design, network ownership model, brand name justifications coordination, evaluation criteria for technical and past performance, CONOPS and CONEMPS inclusion in the final RFP, involvement of IAFNOS contractor with task order implementations, release of participants list from the industry day, 8(a) HW/equipment awardee participation on services team as a subcontractor, coverage of CONUS and OCONUS tasks, determination of brand name hardware selection for bases, review and awarding structure for USSF bases, additional opportunities to ask questions, SB participant's role on the hardware IDIQ installations of equipment, use of subcontractor past performance for gate 2.
