Background
The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center is hosting an Industry Day for the Base Infrastructure Modernization (BIM) acquisition. The BIM program is the prime mechanism for DAF base modernization for the future, incorporating Wave 2 and BITI Reset 2.0 requirements. The acquisition is anticipated to be a multiple-award IDIQ, with a 10-year ordering period.

Work Details
The contract will require the vendor to modernize and operate the base area network, including wireless and software-defined networking, and interoperate with other government entities and programs. Task orders will be arranged according to an internal Department of the Air Force prioritized list of bases. The contractor will have the latitude to design a network that meets service level agreement metrics, with a design-build aspect to each task order.

Period of Performance
The IDIQ is anticipated to have an ordering period covering 10 years; a 5-year basic ordering period and a 5-year option. The final RFP is anticipated to be released in early quarter 1 of calendar year 2023, with the award expected by quarter 2 of calendar year 2023.

Place of Performance
The geographic locations where the contract will be performed include Air National Guard, Air Force Reserve Command, and United States Space Force bases.
