Banana Peel DxP IRSC

Background
This procurement is issued by the U.S. Forest Service for the San Juan National Forest in Colorado, specifically under the R2 Rocky Mountain Restoration Project (RMRP) Stewardship Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA). The goal of this contract is to enhance forest resiliency against bark beetle epidemics, promote age class diversity, recover forest vegetation, reduce wildfire risks, and provide wood products through various logging and land management activities.

Work Details
The Banana Peel DxP IRSC project involves approximately 567 acres across 9 units within the Mancos-Dolores Ranger District. Key tasks include:

(a) Cutting and removing live ponderosa pine saw timber with a diameter at breast height (DBH) of 9.0" to 21.9";
(b) Cutting, skidding, and decking dead sawtimber and live/dead non-sawtimber with a DBH of 5.0" to 21.9";
(c) Cutting and piling dead ponderosa pine;
(d) Decommissioning user-created forest roads.

The contractor's operations must be conducted in a workmanlike manner on National Forest lands, adhering to safety protocols and minimizing environmental impact.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for mandatory work items is from the date of award through December 31, 2028. Optional work items will extend from the date of award through December 31, 2030.

Place of Performance
San Juan National Forest, Mancos-Dolores Ranger District, Colorado.

Bidder Requirements
This solicitation is a Small Business Set Aside - Total (SBA). Bidders must demonstrate relevant experience in timber removal and land management activities.
