Baggage Conveyor System   2

Background
The 60th Aerial Port Squadron (APS) at Travis AFB, CA is seeking potential sources to remove and replace the baggage conveyor system that is currently in place. This Sources Sought is to determine the availability of businesses, including small businesses, to provide the required products and/or services. It does not constitute a Request for Quote (RFQ) or a promise to issue a future RFQ. The Air Force is not currently seeking proposals and will not accept unsolicited proposals.

Work Details
The contractor shall remove and dispose of the existing passenger terminal baggage handling system located at Travis AFB, CA, and install a new custom baggage handling system to replace it. The contractor shall be responsible for the electrical portion of the baggage handling system, including furnishing and installing all necessary components such as conduits, conductors, terminations, conveyor controls, sensors, timers, display panels, variable frequency drives (VFDs), programmable logic controllers (PLCs), emergency stop buttons, and motor control panels.

The project involves furnishing & installing various components of the outbound baggage handling system including conveyors with side guides, stainless steel doors, trim, rubber draft curtains in public areas, as well as providing shop drawings, engineering, as-built drawings, and necessary training & testing. The outbound conveyor system shall be capable of handling suitcases, duffel bags, footlockers, wooden boxes and other pieces of checked baggage within specific weight and size limits. Additionally, specific performance/physical characteristics such as scales and conveyor types, load capacity, speed requirements, electrical characteristics including power source and motors specifications are detailed in the solicitation.
