B185 Cooling Tower Repairs

Background
The B185 Cooling Tower Repairs project is issued by the United States Air Force, specifically for Offutt Air Force Base. The mission of this contract is to procure and provide essential repairs to two cooling towers, ensuring their operational efficiency and reliability. The goal is to replace critical components of the cooling towers, including fan transmissions and motors, to maintain effective cooling operations at the facility.

Work Details
The contractor shall perform the following tasks: procure and provide two new cooling tower fan transmissions, associated hardware kits, flinger collars, and two new shaft and coupling hub connections for the tower fan motors. Additionally, a new tower fan motor will be provided for Tower #2. The existing transmissions, shafts, and coupling hubs for both towers will be replaced, along with the motor for Tower #2. After replacing the transmissions, the fans will be re-balanced to ensure proper operation.

Specific requirements include:
1) Visiting the site prior to work commencement to verify existing conditions;
2) Removing the tower fan guard and fan blade on each tower;
3) Replacing the transmission, shaft, and coupling hub on each tower;
4) Replacing the fan motor on Tower #2;
5) Aligning shaft and hub connections;
6) Reinstalling fan blades and guards;
7) Balancing new fans for full operational function;
8) Installing electrical and control connections to the new motor;
9) Conducting start-up testing to confirm satisfactory installation;
10) Providing at least a one-year warranty on all labor and materials;
11) Cleaning up and disposing of all removed equipment and project waste off-base as per environmental regulations.

Period of Performance
The contract performance period is from January 1, 2026, to March 31, 2026.

Place of Performance
All construction tasks will be performed at Offutt Air Force Base located in Nebraska.
