Description

Five (5) Year, Enterprise-Wide Cost-Reimbursement (No-Fee) Indefinite-Delivery, Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ) contract with the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) to provide Independent Scientific, Technical, Engineering and Advisory Services to all National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) and Department of Energy Headquarters (DOE) Program & Field Offices.
Background
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) proposes to enter into a sole-source, follow-on contract with the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) to provide independent scientific, technical, engineering, and advisory services. This contract supports the Office of Defense Nuclear Nonproliferation (NA-20) and other DOE/NNSA offices.

Work Details
Under this contract, NAS will provide independent scientific, technical, engineering, and advisory services to all DOE/NNSA Programs, including headquarters and field offices. The services include assessing and validating scientific and engineering excellence in DOE/NNSA’s missions and programs; informing DOE/NNSA of relevant scientific and technical data; assessing and applying science and engineering to public policy; and contributing to the vitality of DOE/NNSA’s scientific enterprise.

The contract ensures the highest level of independence, objectivity, and audience acceptance in the relevant scientific and policy-making communities.

Period of Performance
The contract is for a five-year period.

Place of Performance
Services will be provided to all DOE/NNSA Programs, including headquarters and field offices.
