Background
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) National Water Quality Laboratory (NWQL) is responsible for conducting scientific projects that require analyses of environmental matrices, including waters, sediments, and biological samples. This contract aims to provide analytical services for Harmful Algal Blooms (HABs), which are critical for scientific and regulatory investigations across the United States. The goal is to obtain reliable data that meets strict quality control standards using established analytical methods.

Work Details
The contractor will provide all necessary labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and facilities required for the analysis of samples related to HABs. Key tasks include:

1. Conducting analyses on samples collected by USGS to study HABs and other biological activities.

2. Ensuring compliance with USGS data-quality objectives and providing documentation, data, metadata, and technical support for data users.

3. Utilizing specified analytical methods from Appendix A – Pricing Schedule for environmental samples.

4. Performing analyses within specified holding-time limits and reporting results in established formats including PDF reports and electronic data deliverables (EDD).

5. Maintaining a documented quality system that adheres to federal regulations and includes quality assurance policies and quality control procedures.

Period of Performance
The contract period is from January 13, 2025, to January 12, 2030.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the contractor's laboratory facilities as designated by the USGS.
