B&F-Men-25Z6AA8-Rebuild Chiller 3

Background
The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Federal Correctional Institution Mendota, located at 33500 West California Avenue, Mendota, CA 93640, intends to award a contract for the repair and rebuilding of one (1) McQuay WSC087-BAABM Brand Centrifugal Chiller. The contractor must be factory trained and qualified to perform repairs on McQuay Brand chillers.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, parts, materials, tools, equipment, and any specialized outside services necessary to completely rebuild the chiller according to the manufacturer’s 'Centravac Major inspection and Renovation Service Steps and Procedures'.

The work includes dismantling the chiller and inspecting various mechanical components to ensure they meet safe operational standards. Specific components to be evaluated include: Inlet Guide Vane Assembly, Thrust Bearing, Compressor, Motor Shaft, Labyrinth Seals, Impellers, Thrust assemblies, 3rd Stage Land and Vane Operator Assembly, Vane Actuator Control Box, Electric Drive Motor, and Seals/O-rings. If any components are found defective, they must be rebuilt or replaced.

Additional tasks include replacing all Roller Thrust and Sleeve Bearings; replacing all Seals and Gaskets; replacing Filter Driers; inspecting Service Valves and Solenoid Valves; calibrating Pressure and Temperature Transducers; conducting general assembly inspections; checking refrigerant levels; visually inspecting condenser tubes for cleanliness; checking vanes for smooth operation; checking mechanical linkages for wear; conducting refrigerant leak checks; cleaning the lubrication system; and reclaiming refrigerant per applicable laws.

The construction projects will be performed at FCI Mendota located at 33500 West California Avenue, Mendota, CA 93640.
