Background
The project is initiated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to construct five new pre-engineered metal Environmental Protection Shelters (EPS) at Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota. Each shelter will be approximately 20,000 square feet and designed to accommodate the B-2A 'Spirit' aircraft for general maintenance.

The goal of the contract is to provide a complete facility that meets Department of Defense standards, including compliance with AFI 16-1404 requirements, while ensuring adherence to antiterrorism and force protection measures.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:
1. Construction of five (5) EPS (60 Row) shelters, excluding sitework, utilities, and grade infrastructure.
2. Construction of two maintenance kiosks (approximately 160 SF each) that will provide electrical and communication infrastructure for the EPSs.
3. Foundations, sitework, and utilities necessary for the EPSs.
4. Flightline paving which includes airfield concrete and ground support equipment (GSE) paving along with all necessary site preparation, base installation, drainage layers, earthwork, and striping.
5. Options for additional caisson lengths for EPSs and removal/disposal of contaminated soils not previously identified in project surveys.

Period of Performance
The contract duration is set for 730 calendar days from the award date.
