The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is seeking autoclave operation services to remove and dispose of medical waste generated by highly infectious patients treated at the Special Clinical Studies Unit (SCSU) within the Clinical Research Center. The contractor must be able to respond quickly when needed. The contract will be a single-award Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) with a one-year base period and four one-year options. Contractors may be awarded a BPA that extends beyond the current term of their GSA Schedule contract, as long as there are option periods in their GSA Schedule contract that cover the BPA's performance period. The contractor's responsibilities include attending training, updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), providing qualified staffing technicians, removing hazardous material boxes, sterilizing items, packaging materials for removal, maintaining a waste disposal log, and stationing technicians in the conference room next to the SCSU unit. The period of performance for this contract opportunity is from February 16, 2024, to February 15, 2029, including option periods. The place of performance is at the NIH Building 10 Clinical Research Center.
