Auger Assembly and Install   2

Background
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is issuing this solicitation for the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) located in Glynco, Georgia. The FLETC's mission is to provide high-quality training for law enforcement personnel. This contract aims to improve the efficiency and safety of indoor firearms training ranges by installing incline auger systems that will facilitate the collection and disposal of projectile fragments and reduced-hazard ammunition (RHA) residue, thereby reducing manual labor and environmental risks associated with current discharge methods.

Work Details
The contract involves the delivery and installation of four (4) 6" Copper Dust Auger Assemblies with installation. The specifications for the auger assemblies include:

1. All-steel construction suitable for high-use firearms range environments.
2. Right-hand turn orientation.
3. Approximate 20-degree incline.
4. Approximate 12-foot overall length.
5. Solid steel shaft design.
6. Rated for continuous operation handling projectile fragments, carbon material, and RHA residue.

Each assembly must also include:

1. Integrated Variable Frequency Drive (VFD).
2. A 230-volt electric motor appropriately sized for continuous service.
3. Factory-mounted or field-mounted drive components as required.
4. Mounting configuration suitable for semi-exposed installation under Government-constructed protective sheds.

Additionally, the contractor must provide carbon-steel inlet chutes designed to align with existing projectile traps, outlet chutes engineered to discharge material into sealed drums through dust-control hoses, and heavy-duty dust-control hoses designed for containment of fine particulate including carbon dust and RHA residue.

Period of Performance
Delivery is required within 30 days after award.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC), 1131 Chapel Crossing Rd, Glynco, GA 31524.
