Background
The ASWHIP Weed Spraying contract is issued by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) for the White River National Forest, specifically targeting the Aspen-Sopris Ranger District.

The mission of this contract is to manage and treat noxious weed species in remote areas to protect the ecological integrity of the forest. This solicitation is a readvertisement of RFQ 1240LQ24Q0071, emphasizing the need for effective weed management in designated areas.

Work Details
The contractor is required to provide all personnel, equipment, certifications, livestock (as needed), supplies, water, facilities, transportation, tools, materials, supervision, and other items necessary to perform noxious weed treatments.

The primary tasks include:
- Visually locating noxious weeds and conducting treatments by spot spraying approximately 65 acres with herbicide in remote areas before or after prescribed fire across some 340 acres total.
- Targeting specific weed species including Houndstongue, Plumeless thistle, Canada thistle, and any other Colorado State Listed noxious weed species identified during contract performance. Houndstongue and thistles will be prioritized.
- Performing work in 100% remote areas that are accessible only by horse or foot; no wheeled or tracked vehicles are allowed. Acceptable application methods include backpack spraying or livestock-mounted spray systems.
- Providing their own CO2 for satellite spraying and all necessary equipment and livestock for the tasks outlined. The Aspen-Sopris Ranger District will supply herbicide, surfactant, and marker dye necessary for treatments.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this contract is from September 4, 2024, to September 15, 2025. Most spray operations are preferred to occur between late June and late July 2025.

Place of Performance
The project will be performed in the White River National Forest at Lime Park and Cattle Creek in Eagle County, near Basalt, Colorado.
