Assistive Technology Training Material Development

Background
The Social Security Administration (SSA) is seeking support to develop supplemental training materials for agency personnel who are Employees with Disabilities (EWD), specifically targeting those with visual, mobility, and cognitive impairments.

The SSA's EWD Support Team is responsible for creating navigation materials that assist these employees in utilizing various assistive technologies (AT) effectively. This initiative aims to enhance the functional capabilities of individuals with disabilities by providing tailored training resources and ensuring accessibility in the workplace.

Work Details
The contractor will perform the following tasks:
1. Develop new navigation support material and adapt existing training materials for visually, mobility, and cognitively impaired employees.
2. Review, revise, and maintain outdated training materials as needed based on updates to AT or SSA applications.
3. Create original EWD navigation material where no suitable material exists.
4. Produce scripts for audio/video training materials including audio on demand (AOD) and video on demand (VOD).
5. Maintain EWD-related SharePoint and Intranet pages, ensuring they meet accessibility standards under Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
6. Evaluate technologies related to training material development and conduct informal usability testing of agency applications.
7. Prepare demonstrations and technical briefings on EWD navigational support initiatives.

Place of Performance
Work will primarily be conducted virtually unless onsite presence at SSA facilities is requested and approved.
