NASA/NSSC has a requirement for Artemis II Survey Markings.

NASA/NSSC intends to issue a sole source contract to SHAPEFIDELITY, INC. 107 Rivercrest Circle New Market, Alabama 35761-7109 United States under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i). It has been determined that SHAPEFIDELITY, INC. is the sole provider of Artemis II Survey Markings.

NASA/NSSC will be the procuring center for this effort. Performance will be located at NASA/ Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC).

The Government intends to acquire commercial items and services using the provisions, clauses and procedures prescribed in FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13.

The NAICS Code for this procurement is 541330

Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:00 p.m. Central Standard Time on 6/27/2023. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.

Work Details
The Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) Space Launch Systems Office is seeking a vendor to conduct surveys of optical reference markings attached to the Space Launch System (SLS) vehicle while assembled on the Exploration Ground Systems (EGS) Mobile Launcher (ML) at Kennedy Space Center (KSC). The vendor will be responsible for conducting survey measurements for the optical reference markings of Artemis II LH and RH Booster Segments while in VAB Transfer Aisle. The contractor shall provide all equipment required to develop, test, and conduct the survey measurements and process the results.
Coordination with SLS and EGS personnel is required to determine detailed schedules for setup, testing, and survey activities. All KSC safety requirements shall be followed at all times; Hazardous zones within the VAB are defined in GSDO-SPEC-1184.
Survey activities for the tasks will be conducted around other launch processing activity in the VAB and shall not require quiescent conditions. Initial results, including accuracy values, shall be provided to SLS within 3 days following each activity. A detailed survey report shall be provided within 14 days following the activity.
