Background
The Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) posts this funding opportunity in support of the Personalized Regenerative Immunocompetent Nanotechnology Tissue (PRINT) Program. ARPA-H anticipates multiple awards and award types will result from this announcement. The PRINT program aims to create a process to enable biofabrication of the kidney, heart, and liver using advanced cell manufacturing and 3D bioprinting. The program will address the US and global organ shortage, provide equity to those in need, and save lives.

Work Details
The PRINT program aims to create a process to enable biofabrication of the kidney, heart, and liver using advanced cell manufacturing and 3D bioprinting. It will develop effective cell differentiation and expansion methods for all necessary organ cell types, which can then be transitioned to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) manufacturing grade. Organ level tissue complexity will be recapitulated using tissue modeling software, bioinks and supporting materials, precision bioprinting hardware, and bioreactors to provide active perfusion and sustain viability prior to transplantation.

Period of Performance
The PRINT program is structured as a 5-year effort with 2 Phases: (1–36-month Phase I) and (37-60-month Phase II).
