Description

The General Services Administration (GSA), on behalf of the U.S. Army, is conducting market research for a project aimed at enhancing security measures at the Mission and Installation Contracting Command Headquarters (MICC HQ) located at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. The primary objective of this initiative is to procure and implement a Wired Electronic Strike access control door locking system across the MICC HQ campus. This effort aligns with the Army's goal of ensuring robust and reliable security infrastructure within its administrative facilities.

The scope of work for this project involves a comprehensive upgrade of the existing access control systems in place across thirteen buildings within the historic section of Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston. The contractor selected for this project will be responsible for providing all necessary labor, materials, tools, equipment, and supervision required to install new access control devices. This includes replacing outdated wireless systems with state-of-the-art wired electronic strike systems that are compatible with heavy-duty electro-mechanical locksets.

Currently, the MICC HQ buildings are equipped with a legacy wireless system comprising eighty-eight wireless and thirty-two stand-alone access control reader head keypads. The goal is to standardize all 120 door locks across these facilities with consistent reader heads/keypads that support real-time monitoring and management capabilities. This upgrade will ensure uniformity in security protocols and enhance overall operational efficiency.

The contractor's responsibilities will include installing access control devices, monitoring sensors, and ancillary supporting security system infrastructure throughout the entire MICC HQ campus. It is imperative that all wired keypad reader heads are integrated seamlessly into the existing infrastructure to provide a cohesive and secure environment for personnel working within these critical administrative spaces.
