Argus VI Instrument Service Contract

Background
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Geology Geophysics and Geochemistry Science Center (GGGSC) Denver Argon Geochronology Laboratory (DAGL) requires a service contract for a Thermo Scientific Argus VI noble gas mass spectrometer. The DAGL is a custom-built facility operated by USGS research scientists, housing two Argus VI instruments manufactured by Thermo Scientific. One instrument is under warranty, while the other requires a service contract to ensure consistent operations and minimize downtime, which is critical for the laboratory's high throughput operations.

Work Details
The contractor will provide maintenance and repair services for one (1) Argus VI Noble Gas Mass Spectrometer. This includes:

1) At least one on-demand site visit for emergency repairs with a targeted response time of three (3) business days;

2) One scheduled preventative maintenance site visit;

3) Provision of factory-certified replacement parts;

4) Priority status for technical support inquiries;

5) Software updates to ensure the instrument operates within manufacturer specifications.

Period of Performance
09/20/2025 to 09/19/2026, with an optional six-month extension from 09/20/2026 to 03/19/2027.
