Area Studies Course Coordinators

The Foreign Service Institute is seeking contractors for professional teaching services required by the Department of State and the Foreign Service Institute to:
Design and conduct Regional, Sub-regional or Country -specific Area Studies Courses and parts of the Courses that highlight the key historical, political, economic, and socio-cultural themes for the region, sub-region or country, American interests and policy issues and how the US and USG policy are perceived.

The Area Studies Division is organized into the following geographic regional programs:
Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia, South and Central Asia, Europe, Near East/North Africa, Russia/Eurasia and Western Hemisphere. Each of these has a Regional Chair, most of whom are USG employees and will serve as the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) for contracts for that geographic region. Classes are taught at the regional, sub-regional or country-specific level and meet on consecutive days, whose total number will differ from course to course.
