AR FWS ARK ESFO WATER QUALITY ANALYSES A

Background
The solicitation is issued by the US Fish and Wildlife Service, Joint Administrative Operations | Acquisition Goods and Services Operations. The purpose of the contract is to acquire laboratory analyses of water samples for a variety of measures detailed in the statement of work. The Air Force is engaging the FWS cooperative agreements as a Sikes Act CA, to enable a cost-effective, time-efficient, and flexible means of achieving Air Force Integrated Natural Resources Management Plan (INRMP) goals and objectives.

Work Details
The purpose of this SOW is to assess water quality and phytoplankton species diversity and density in two recreational lakes at Little Rock AFB. Monitoring the ecological conditions in these waterbodies is important to ensure their continued quality not only for wildlife habitat, but also for recreational fisheries. Data from the laboratory analyses described will be used to inform decisions made by the base natural resource management program to manage the lakes.

The selected laboratory should have experience in analyzing water samples for common nutrients and pesticides as well as the ability to identify and enumerate phytoplankton species present in the samples. The laboratory is expected to adhere to approved EPA methods and American Society for Test and Material standards.
