Aquarium Support for TSMRI

Background
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is responsible for the stewardship of the nation’s ocean resources and their habitat. NMFS provides vital services for the nation, backed by sound science and an ecosystem-based approach to management for productive and sustainable fisheries, safe sources of seafood, recovery and conservation of protected resources, and healthy ecosystems.

The Ted Stevens Marine Research Institute (TSMRI) houses a seawater aquaria system used for outreach and education, which is open for public viewing.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide aquarium maintenance services for the TSMRI in Juneau, Alaska. The facility's aquaria system consists of 6 public displays and up to 5 holding tanks, ranging in size from 100 to approximately 2500 gallons. Services include:

1. Coordination with the Facilities Manager, Wet Lab Manager, and Deputy Director to maintain all facets of the operation and maintenance of the aquarium system.
2. Care and maintenance of public display aquariums.
3. Feeding and care of stock animals in the wet lab.
4. Tasks must be performed Monday through Friday between 10am and 8pm unless otherwise agreed upon.

Period of Performance
09/16/2026 to 09/15/2031, with options for four additional years.

Place of Performance
Ted Stevens Marine Research Institute, Juneau, Alaska.

Bidder Requirements
This opportunity is a Small Business Set Aside - Total (SBA). Bidders must have relevant experience in aquarium maintenance services, including professional aquarium curatorial skills.
