Description

NASA/NSSC has a requirement for APD modules and associated engineering. See the attached SOW and capability statement for full details.

Background
NASA's National Suborbital Science Center (NSSC) has a requirement for the development and delivery of High Bandwidth Prototype Avalanche PhotoDiode (APD) modules and associated engineering services.

The goal of this contract is to support NASA's mission by providing advanced photodetector technology that meets specific performance criteria for scientific applications.

Work Details
The contractor is required to support various meetings, including a kickoff meeting, monthly status meetings, and a pre-ship meeting.

Deliverables include:
1. Meetings:
- A 1-hour virtual kickoff meeting within 2 weeks of contract award to discuss engineering, production, and testing tasks.
- Monthly 1-hour virtual status meetings to update NASA on prototype hardware progress, starting 4 weeks after contract award.
- A 2-hour virtual pre-ship meeting to present characterization results before hardware shipment.

2. Module Specifications: The contractor must provide a specification sheet for the prototype APD module including materials list, electro-optic specifications (breakdown voltage, operating voltage, dark current, etc.), absolute maximum ratings, and package outline drawing.

3. Characterization Reports: Each detector module must have a characterization report detailing performance parameters such as responsivity scans, breakdown voltage, operating voltage, noise equivalent power, and bandwidth testing results at specified temperatures.

4. Delivery of Prototypes: The contractor shall deliver two LLAM CD3830 PRO-3 modules and one LLAM CD3830 PRO-4 module to NASA that meet specified requirements related to thermal control, APD gain, noise levels, and electrical coupling.

Period of Performance
The period of performance is expected to begin upon contract award (approximately September 30, 2025) and will last for approximately 30 weeks.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the contractor's facilities as specified in the contract.
