Description

The Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) has awarded a new procurement modification under existing contract N0003020C0003 issued on a sole-source basis to General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS), Pittsfield, MA to deliver Advance Procurement (AP) Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) material for SPALT 30365 (SSBN FIRE CONTROL REPLACEMENT SYSTEM) US/UK SSBN Replacement as defined in OD 68538, Program Plan for the SSBN Replacement Fire Control System and Shipboard Data System and the T9001B checklist dated April 10, 2019, Fire Control Type, Production Phase. The award date was December 22, 2021.

This effort is inextricably linked to work already being performed by GDMS under Contract N0003020C0003, which was awarded June 10, 2020 using other than full and open competition.

GDMS is the only known source with the requisite design background, system knowledge and operational experience relative to the TRIDENT II Fire Control Subsystem and Advanced Weapon Control System capable of providing the required efforts within existing technical, cost and fleet schedule constraints.

The attached Justification and Approval provides authority to award this as a sole-source effort.

This notice is posted in accordance with FAR Subpart 5.301. This NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITVE PROPOSALS.
