Annual Inspection Fire Extinguishers Services

Background
The South Louisiana Veterans Healthcare System (SLVHCS) is issuing this contract to perform annual maintenance inspections on approximately 1000 portable fire extinguishers located across various facilities. The goal of this contract is to ensure the safety and compliance of fire safety equipment within the healthcare system, which serves veterans in the region.

Work Details
The contractor shall conduct annual maintenance checks on all listed fire extinguishers, which include ABC type, CO2 type, H2O type, Class K type, and 150 lb. wheeled type extinguishers. Specific tasks include:
- Locating fire extinguishers and ensuring they are accessible and visible.
- Examining bracket stability and extinguisher height.
- Checking hydrostatic test dates and general condition of cylinders.
- Weighing cylinders and inspecting handles for proper operation.
- Cleaning equipment, replacing worn labels, and attaching new NFPA-10 inspection tags.
- Reinstalling extinguishers on brackets after inspection.
- Creating a detailed list or database of all inspected extinguishers including maintenance records, serial numbers, and future maintenance due dates. This database must be submitted to the Safety Management Office within one week of completion.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at multiple locations within the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System including: 2400 Canal St., New Orleans, LA; 60491 Doss Drive, Slidell, LA; 4004 W. Airline Highway, Reserve, LA; and 1131 South Morrison Blvd., Hammond, LA.
