Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs, specifically the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center, is seeking to maintain high standards of safety and efficacy in its research environments through the Annual Certification and Maintenance Services contract.
This initiative is crucial for ensuring that all containment and ventilation equipment operates at peak performance levels, thereby safeguarding personnel and ensuring the integrity of research conducted within their facilities.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to perform certifications, testing, and repairs as needed for various laboratory containment equipment at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center.
Specific tasks include:
- Annual certifications for biosafety cabinets (A2), fume hoods (including ductless), animal changing stations, and laminar flow hoods.
- Testing according to AIHA/ANSI Z9.5 standards for fume hoods.
- Responding on-site at the requested time of service to deliver these services.
- Providing contingency repairs throughout the year as communicated by the Research Service.
The contractor must ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications and relevant safety standards such as OSHA and NFPA regulations.

Period of Performance
Base Year: March 28, 2025 through March 27, 2026; Option Year 1: March 28, 2026 through March 27, 2027; Option Year 2: March 28, 2027 through March 27, 2028; Option Year 3: March 28, 2028 through March 27, 2029; Option Year 4: March 28, 2029 through March 27, 2030.
