Announcement of FTI Single Source Extension

Background
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) intends to extend the FAA Telecommunications Infrastructure (FTI) contract with L3Harris Technologies, Inc. to support the continuation of services of the FTI network.

Work Details
The FTI contract provides approximately 28,000 telecommunications services, including two separate networks for National Airspace System (NAS) operations and routine administrative functions.

The NAS operational network supports seven availability levels and requires dedicated nodal infrastructure at over 4,000 locations. The Mission Support network connects approximately 1,000 locations with premium and standard service levels.

The contractor also provides security gateways, VPN access for over 35,000 employees, enterprise messaging services based on SOA technologies, and is responsible for technology refreshes. Services are provided within the continental United States and internationally, including satellite and microwave-based services.

Support services include program management, network engineering, configuration management, service verification, service ordering and provisioning, network management and operations, and security management.

Period of Performance
The planned period of performance for the extension is up to 3 months.

Place of Performance
Services are primarily within the continental United States but also include locations such as Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, Guam, and international sites.
