Background
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is seeking to acquire Animal Health & Diagnostic Testing Services to monitor the health of its research animal colonies. The health of these animals is critical for various research projects, as they are susceptible to diseases that can impact research outcomes and may pose zoonotic risks.

NIH veterinarians are responsible for overseeing animal care and monitoring health status, making diagnostic testing essential for maintaining animal welfare and safety.

Work Details
The contractor will provide serological analysis, PCR testing, and related assays on animal sera and tissues. Tasks include:
1) Performing health surveillance and diagnostic testing necessary for monitoring NIH animal colonies;
2) Conducting serological and PCR testing primarily for health surveillance;
3) Providing hematology and clinical chemistry analysis on a limited basis;
4) Confirming bacterial agent presence through selective identification;
5) Reporting test results back within three workdays to the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) and designated personnel.
