Background
NASA/NSSC has a requirement for the analysis of Ophthalmic Images to quantify Spaceflight-Associated Neuro-ocular measures. This project is funded by the Human Research Program and aims to investigate the structure and function of the eye, particularly in relation to spaceflight effects. The study involves collecting ocular data using advanced ophthalmic hardware, including Electroretinogram (ERG) and Ocular Coherence Tomography (OCT) data.

Work Details
The contractor shall perform the following tasks: Analyze 25 ERG datasets, 25 OCT-A datasets, and 3 IVFA datasets. Specific duties include:
- For ERG datasets:
- Analyze pERG (pattern ERG) data to assess retinal ganglion cell function using both small and large check pattern protocols.
- Analyze and quantify the amplitudes of the PhNR (photopic negative response) data obtained via ERG.
- For IVFA datasets:
- Assess retinal vasculature and evidence of vascular leakage over time.
- Provide interpretation of retinal blood barrier integrity.
- For OCT-A datasets:
- Analyze ocular vasculature at the macula and optic nerve head with OCT-A images.
- Assess density and axial distribution of retinal microvasculature with OCT-A images.
- Develop perfusion and vessel density maps.
- Analyze size and area of flow voids in retinal layers.
- Compare results to other previously analyzed datasets to provide a comprehensive final results summary.
- Complete analysis in a timely manner to support SANS milestones.

Period of Performance
Analysis shall be performed from August 1, 2026, to July 31, 2028, with an option year extending from August 1, 2028, to July 31, 2029.

Place of Performance
University of California, San Diego in San Diego, California

Bidder Requirements
The vendor must have experience in advanced ocular assessments collected with the specific vendor devices used for this study.
