Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a vendor to provide a surgical microscope for laboratory research applications at the Malcolm Randall VA Medical Center in Gainesville, FL.
The goal of this contract is to enhance research capabilities through the provision of advanced optical equipment that meets specific operational requirements.

Work Details
The contractor will supply a surgical microscope that meets the following salient characteristics:
- **Secondary Observation**: Must provide a secondary observation method, either through a second set of eyepieces or an integrated display for teaching and collaboration.
- **Documentation Capability**: High-definition still image and video capture for documentation and training purposes.
- **Objective Lens**: Standard objective lens with a focal length of approximately 200 mm.
- **Motorized Focus and Fast Focus**: Motorized focus system with an extended focus range of approximately 70 mm, allowing precision control for varied working distances.
- **Motorized Zoom**: Continuous motorized zoom capability.
- **Foot Pedal Control**: Wireless programmable foot pedal enabling hands-free operation, controlling x, y, and z-axis positioning and zoom functions.
- **Integrated Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)**: Real-time, distortion-free OCT imaging for intraoperative decision support.
- **Apochromatic Objective Lens with Motorized Zoom**: Apochromatic lens system with motorized zoom and true-to-life color across the field of view.
- **Illumination**: Stereo coaxial illumination with acceptable light sources including xenon, LED, or halogen.
- **Size Limitations**: Maximum height of 1880 mm, width of 805 mm, and length of 1340 mm when on the stand.
