Amendment Groundskeeping   2

Background
This solicitation amendment is issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs, specifically the Network Contracting Office 6, located at 100 Emancipation Drive, Hampton VA 23667. The purpose of this contract is to provide groundskeeping services at the Durham VA Medical Center.

The amendment aims to address technical questions from potential bidders, extend the submission date for proposals, and provide a site map for reference.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for various groundskeeping tasks including:
1. Mowing services are required every two weeks during the growing season (March-October), with an estimated total of 18 mowing services annually.
2. Edging of approximately 9,101 linear feet is required every other mowing cycle.
3. Irrigation support includes providing water and access points; however, the contractor is not responsible for irrigation system repairs.
4. Aeration services are required once annually for about 5 acres of improved turf.
5. Leaf removal involves mulching leaves blown to grass areas; dumpsters are available on-site for debris disposal.
6. Trash and debris must be managed with available dumpsters; no holiday work is required for policing debris.
7. Routine pruning of trees is expected without responsibility for hazardous tree removal or utility coordination as there are no trees near power lines.
8. One mulch application annually using Timberline brown mulch at a depth of 4 inches is required, along with one fertilization application in the fall using specified fertilizer analysis.
9. Organic weed control methods must be used throughout the property.
10. Snow and ice management requires 24/7 monitoring during winter conditions, with specific response times and approved materials for deicing.

Period of Performance
The contract performance period will span from October 1, 2026 through September 30, 2027.

Durham VA Medical Center.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBC). Additionally, contractors should have experience in groundskeeping services and be able to provide necessary staffing credentials and equipment for all outlined tasks.
