Amendment 0001 - Weed Control Services for Calverton National Cemetery -- S208   2

Background
The Calverton National Cemetery, located in Long Island, NY, is a National Shrine that honors veterans by providing a final resting place and lasting memorials. The cemetery encompasses approximately 602 developed acres, with 305 acres of turf designated for treatment. The Department of Veterans Affairs, through the National Cemetery Administration, is seeking to contract for weed control services to ensure the cemetery grounds are maintained to a high standard due to its significance and public visibility.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, materials, and supplies necessary for post-emergent broadleaf and pre/post-emergent crabgrass weed control services at Calverton National Cemetery. Specific tasks include:
1. Application of herbicides for weed control on 305 acres of turf.
2. Adherence to an application schedule which includes:
- Turf Application #1: April 5th – 10th for broadleaf weeds and crabgrass control.
- Turf Application #2: May 13th – 17th for continued broadleaf and crabgrass control.
- Turf Application #3: July 20th – 25th focusing on yellow nut sedge and other weeds.
- Turf Application #4: August 15th – 20th targeting various weed grasses.
- Turf Application #5: September 20th – 25th for final broadleaf weed treatment.
3. Compliance with Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) regulations and New York State pesticide application requirements.
4. Maintenance of all necessary licenses and insurance coverage as specified in the solicitation.

Period of Performance
The period of performance will be one (1) base year plus four (4) one-year options from the date of award.
