Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs, National Cemetery Administration is issuing this Combined Synopsis Solicitation for janitorial services at Calverton National Cemetery. The goal of this contract is to ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the cemetery, which serves as a final resting place for veterans and their families, reflecting the agency's mission to honor and remember those who served.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide comprehensive janitorial services at Calverton National Cemetery, including but not limited to: cleaning public restrooms, maintaining buildings, ensuring all areas are kept clean and sanitary, and adhering to the dignity clause which emphasizes respect for headstones and markers. Specific tasks include:

1. Developing a work plan with an annual schedule detailing employee assignments;
2. Providing proof of experience in commercial janitorial services;
3. Submitting a list of subcontractors if applicable;
4. Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and handling chemicals responsibly;
5. Reporting any damages or discrepancies immediately to the Contracting Officer Representative (COR);
6. Following guidelines for working around gravesites with utmost care.

Period of Performance
The period of performance will be one base year with four one-year options, contingent upon exercise from the date of award.
