Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs, National Cemetery Administration is issuing this solicitation for the trimming and edging of flat bronze markers and concrete bases at Calverton National Cemetery.

The goal of this contract is to maintain the aesthetic and respectful appearance of the cemetery, which serves as a final resting place for service members, veterans, and their families. This contract is set aside for Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB).

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, equipment, tools, materials, and supplies necessary for the trimming and edging of flat markers located in approximately 16 different sections covering about 130 acres at Calverton National Cemetery.

Specific tasks include:
1. Trimming around flat bronze markers and concrete bases to ensure a neat appearance.
2. Edging along pathways and around markers to maintain clear boundaries.
3. Ensuring that all work is performed with care and respect for the gravesites, adhering to the dignity clause which emphasizes reverence for headstones and markers.
4. The contractor must avoid any actions that could damage headstones or disturb remains buried in the cemetery grounds.

Period of Performance
The period of performance will be one base year with four one-year options from the date of award.
