Description

J&A for Amazon Web Services Enteprrise BPA uuder GSA schedule

Background
The Department of State is seeking to establish a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) for Amazon Web Services (AWS) under the GSA schedule. This acquisition is critical for ensuring that State offices and bureaus maintain continuity of operations for critical systems that rely on AWS's commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) solutions. The goal is to support future needs and respond quickly to dynamic changes in national security and diplomacy missions, while also increasing the efficient use of taxpayer dollars.

Work Details
The AWS solution provides a comprehensive Cloud Management Platform (CMP) with essential capabilities including:
- Availability and Resiliency: High availability with a minimum of three availability zones per region, ensuring redundancy in power, cooling, and connectivity.
- Global Presence: Coverage across nearly 111 availability zones in 34 regions, with over 600 points of presence.
- Breadth and Depth of Services: Over 200 services offered, with continuous improvements based on customer feedback, including more than 3,300 new features added annually.
- Classified Cloud Regions: Capability to manage classified services essential for diplomatic and national security missions, allowing migration from unclassified to classified cloud regions.
- Contact Center as a Service (CCaaS): Supports various communication functionalities necessary for mission objectives, including calling, video, chat, SMS, and email integration.
The BPA will facilitate the execution of multi-year IT strategic plans and ensure a return on investment from prior investments.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed globally as required by the Department of State's operations.
