Alcoa Aluminum Plant Dike Phase II

The project is a 7,700 linear feet earthen filled dike flood control structure. The elevation of the top of the dike varies between elevations 569.50 and 573.50. The dike will have the following basic characteristics: average height of 22 feet above existing ground, width of crest is 15 feet, 2.25 horizontal to 1 vertical (2.25H:1V) side slopes, upstream slope will be protected with 15-inch layer of riprap over a 12-inch layer of bedding, downstream slope will be hydroseeded. The design also includes construction of 4 detention basins with approximate storage capacity of 83 acre-feet. Butterfield Drive, W. Rincon Street, and Auburndale Street will be impacted by the construction of the dike. A concrete floodwall and floodgate will be constructed across Auburndale Street. Butterfield Drive will be modified and a new connector road constructed to connect to Rincon Street.

Estimated period of performance is 720 Calendar days

This Invitation for Bids is being conducted under FAR part 14 Sealed Bidding as a 100% total small business set aside.
