Background
The Asian Longhorned Beetle (ALB), Anoplophora glabripennis, currently infests several areas in the States of New York, Ohio, Massachusetts, and South Carolina. The ALB bores into and kills a variety of hardwood tree species. The Secretary of Agriculture has declared an emergency and is committing resources to eliminate ALB and restore the urban forest. The Asian Longhorned Beetle Cooperative Eradication Program is conducting a tree survey program for the detection of ALB in Worcester County, Massachusetts.

Work Details
The survey requires ground and aerial surveyors to thoroughly inspect host trees for signs of ALB infestation on public and private property. The goal is to detect all ALB infested trees in order to eliminate the infestation as quickly as possible. There are a total of 66,807.2 acres to be inspected within the regulated area, including areas outside of the regulated boundary. The contract surveyors will be responsible for recording all inspections on electronic devices such as tough books.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this contract will be for five years from the date of award, approximately November 1, 2022, through October 31, 2027.
