Background
The contract pertains to the annual washing of exterior surfaces of outside Museum of Aviation display aircraft. The contractor is required to comply with all state and federal environmental code regulations and provide all labor, tools, materials, personnel, equipment, and incidentals necessary to repair the aircraft. The contractor will also be responsible for inspecting the aircraft for defects that would affect the wash, such as chipping paint, loose decals, and holes caused by damage or corrosion.

Work Details
The contractor is expected to take great care in the preservation of painted surfaces and insignia of all washed aircraft. They are required to apply an environmentally safe cleaning solution to all external surfaces in sections, hand wash each section using soft bristle brushes to remove dirt and bird residue, remove accessible bird and wasp nests from cracks and crevices, use low-pressure power washing at their discretion to assist in nest and dirt removal, use a low-pressure rinse once washing is complete to ensure all soap residue is removed leaving a streak-free surface, brief museum staff of any instances of paint, parts or decals removed by the washing process for future corrective action. The washing will be done between May and October with seven days advance notice given by the contractor prior to commencement of work. The contractor is also responsible for ensuring that the worksite is clear to prevent overspray to other aircraft and visitors from entering the work area, as well as cleaning the work area each day prior to departure. Additionally, they must furnish all stands and equipment required.

Period of Performance
The contract specifies that the washing of the aircraft will be performed annually between April and October.

Place of Performance
The contract requires that all aircraft be washed in-place on the Museum of Aviation campus.
