Background
The Aircraft and Spaceflight Systems Engineering Support Services (ASSESS) contract is issued by NASA to support the development and application of technologies for advanced test and flight vehicles and systems.

The goal is to enhance NASA's mission capabilities in aeronautics and space exploration.

Work Details
The contractor will conduct complex aerodynamic simulations, research machine learning impacts on computational modeling, develop advanced materials including thermal protection systems, perform material characterization tests, fabricate test models, provide engineering design services, conduct systems analysis, develop risk assessment tools, integrate flight control systems, and support project management activities.

Specific tasks include designing TPS material samples for testing, applying computational tools for thermal analysis, developing software for material response modeling, conducting structural mechanics studies, performing reliability assessments of flight architectures, and supporting system integration for aircraft and spaceflight systems.

Period of Performance
The contract includes a base period followed by four option periods. The phase-in period is 60 days with full performance expected upon start of the base period.

Place of Performance
Performance will occur at various NASA facilities as specified in the contract.
