Air Boss   2

Background
The contract is issued by the United States Air Force for the Thunder Over the Sound/Air & Space Expo at Keesler Air Force Base (AFB) and Biloxi, MS. The goal of the contract is to secure a highly trained individual to serve as the Air Boss, responsible for overseeing air operations and ensuring performer flight safety during the event scheduled for 1-2 November 2025.

Work Details
The Air Boss will perform a variety of specialized tasks including:

- Conducting pre-show briefings for all participants on air operations and safety;
- Directing aircraft on the ground within designated boundaries;
- Verifying waivered airspace;
- Producing an Air Demonstration schedule;
- Providing direct control of performers;
- Liaising with FAA representatives and emergency services;
- Conducting mandatory briefings prior to shows/practices;
- Coordinating with various aviation authorities;
- Managing ground movements of aircraft and vehicular traffic;
- Establishing communication systems with relevant agencies;
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements;
- Consulting for emergency exercises prior to the event; and
- Maintaining personal liability insurance.

The contractor must have experience with large air shows, be in good standing with ICAS, and have conducted complex air shows as defined in relevant FAA publications.

Period of Performance
The contract performance will take place from 30 October 2025 through 2 November 2025, including pre-show activities and daily briefings during the event.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at Keesler Air Force Base (AFB) and Biloxi Beach Front in Biloxi, MS.
