Description

THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. This Request for Information is published for market research purposes only. The Government is conducting this market research to identify potential sources that possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet qualification requirements to procure Antenna Assemblies (part #326K910G12), Receiver Exciter Processors (REP) (part #326K900G12), and C-130 Interior Cabin Equipment Kits (part #403K401G01) in support of APG-83 installations on the (30) AC-130J, (64) MC-130J, and (39) HC-130J platforms plus 10% spares totaling 147 of each part.

The Contractor should be able to furnish all material, support equipment, tools, test equipment, and services needed for support and sustainment. The Contractor would be responsible for providing, maintaining, and calibrating all support equipment required at their facility or a subcontractor's facility. Contractor furnished material or parts used for replacement and sustainment will have to equal or exceed the quality of the Original Equipment Manufacturer and/or original materials and parts.

This RFI is for planning purposes only; this is not a request for Quotations or Proposals. No solicitation document exists, and a formal solicitation may or may not be issued by the Government as a result of the responses to this RFI. The Government will not be liable for payment of any response preparations expenses, nor does the Government intend to pay for the information submitted in this response. The interested parties are responsible for adequately marking proprietary or competition sensitive information contained in their response.

FAR 52.215-3 Request for Information or Solicitation for Planning Purposes (Oct 1997)

  • The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this solicitation or to otherwise pay for the information solicited except as an allowable cost under other contracts as provided in subsection 31.205-18, Bid and proposal costs, of the Federal Acquisition Regulation.

  • This solicitation is issued for the purpose of gathering information in an attempt to identify potential sources for identified equipment.
Background
The Government, specifically the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) at Robins Air Force Base, is conducting market research to identify potential sources with the expertise and capabilities to procure specific parts for the AN/APG-83 Scalable Agile Beam Radar (SABR) system. This includes Antenna Assemblies, Receiver Exciter Processors, and C-130 Interior Cabin Equipment Kits to support installations on various aircraft platforms including AC-130J, MC-130J, and HC-130J.

The goal is to ensure that the contractor can meet qualification requirements and provide necessary support for these systems.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for furnishing all materials, support equipment, tools, test equipment, and services needed for the support and sustainment of the AN/APG-83 installations. This includes:
- Providing, maintaining, and calibrating all support equipment required at their facility or a subcontractor’s facility.
- Ensuring that contractor-furnished materials or parts used for replacement and sustainment are of equal or greater quality than those from the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM).
- Potential sources must also have capabilities in sustaining and developing software as well as providing hardware support for all systems that interact with the AN/APG-83 SABR.
