Description

The primary objective of this program is to research, assess, develop, test, evaluate, prototype, demonstrate, and transition technologies that support the processing, behavior characterization, and performance prediction of advanced aerospace materials.

Background
The primary objective of this program is to research, assess, develop, test, evaluate, prototype, demonstrate, and transition technologies that support the processing, behavior characterization, and performance prediction of advanced aerospace materials. The Aerospace Materials Processing, Performance and Characterization (AMPPAC) is an on-site IDIQ contract. Technical work and objectives include on-site basic, applied, and advanced engineering/scientific research and technical interchange/collaboration with academia and industry relevant to a variety of materials systems including polymer matrix composites, ceramic matrix composites, carbon matrix composites, multifunctional composites, metals, advanced chemistries and use of machine learning and artificial intelligence tools.

Work Details
Tasks include Program Management; Multiscale physics-based thermo-mechanical response and process modeling; Enviro-thermo-mechanical and processing structure-property characterization in relevant environments; Artificial intelligence and machine learning assisted performance/processing prognosis, and materials discovery; High-performance scientific computing methods and software development; Coupled mechanical and processing behavior dependent on functional performance of multifunctional and resilient materials; Data analytics; Research community leverage and interaction; and Acquisition of Special Test Equipment / Contractor Acquired Property.
