Aerospace Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC)

The Aerospace FFRDC contract provides systems engineering and integration to the USAF Space and Missile Systems including many other customers within DoD and outside DoD. This non-profit, The Aerospace Corporation, has been in existense since 1960 operating the FFRDC for the US Air Force (Sponsor). The Aerospace Corporation operates in an atmospshere that is free of organizational conflict of interest due to its unique relationship and management of the FFRDC contract. The FFRDC is governed by a Sponsoring Agreement between the contractor and OSD utilizing DoD Instructions 5000.77, DoD FFRDC Guide. A comprehensive plan was prepared and approved in accordance with FAR 35.017-4 and approved in order to substantiate the need for the FFRDC via market research.
