Advanced Research Concepts (ARC)

Background
The Advanced Research Concepts (ARC) program is focused on rapidly soliciting and exploring a high volume of promising new ideas for limited-scope investments. The projects under this program aim to answer high-risk/high-reward fundamental research questions and assess the impact of further investment on problems of importance to the Department of Defense.

Work Details
The work to be completed under the ARC program includes addressing specific technical objectives outlined in each ARC Opportunity. The maximum period of performance for each project is 12 months. The projects will be funded with a maximum total award value of $300,000 in Government funding, inclusive of direct and indirect costs. Proposed costs are limited to $10,000 or less for materials, equipment, and Other Direct Costs (ODC). No travel or publication costs are permitted, and no subawardees are allowed. All awards made as a result of an ARC Opportunity will be Research Other Transactions (OTs) awarded under the authority of 10 U.S.C. § 4021.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for each ARC project is 12 months.
