ADVANCED MANUFACTURING COLLABORATIVE (AMC) FACILITY

Background
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Office of Environmental Management (EM), is planning the construction of an Advanced Manufacturing Collaborative (AMC) Facility on the University of South Carolina-Aiken campus in Aiken, South Carolina.

The facility aims to support DOE missions by providing a modern R&D environment to integrate national laboratories, commercial entities, and educational institutions, focusing on safer and cost-effective nuclear chemical manufacturing technology.

Work Details
The Contractor shall design and construct a state-of-the-art AMC Facility ranging between 40,000 to 70,000 square feet.

The facility will include laboratory and office space with public areas such as classrooms, offices, and conference spaces. It will feature modern workspaces, multi-story flexible laboratories, high bay areas, meeting spaces, communication equipment, network capabilities, and be designed to achieve LEED version 4 certification.

Specific spaces required include general purpose office space for at least 120 occupants with Wi-Fi and network lines; laboratories for wet chemistry and dry labs/high bay/grid labs; support spaces like conference rooms with VTC capabilities; storage rooms; administrative support areas; and built-in furnishings.

The construction will take place on the campus of the University of South Carolina-Aiken in Aiken, South Carolina.
