Advanced Environmental Measurements (AEM) II

Background
The contract is issued by the US Air Force, specifically the Air Force Technical Applications Center (AFTAC), which is responsible for monitoring nuclear test ban treaties. The goal of this contract is to acquire non-personal services for the processing and analyzing of nuclear debris particle samples, ensuring that AFTAC can maintain its operational capabilities in environmental monitoring.

Work Details
The contractor will perform the following tasks:

(1) Analyze a wide range of environmental samples containing nuclear-related materials on an industrial scale;

(2) Adhere to a quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) program to ensure all measurements are free from laboratory-induced contamination;

(3) Collect and input analysis results into a database for historical purposes and contamination monitoring;

(4) Provide support in data interpretation.

The services required include improving the sensitivity, accuracy, efficiency, and throughput of operational analytical techniques. This involves writing new programs, providing analytical aids, devising new methods for data reduction, and modifying existing software for automatic operation of instruments. The analysis will cover various techniques from general inspection to in-depth study based on environmental samples that may vary in form. Timely analysis response is critical due to changing world conditions.

Period of Performance
The contract will have a seven-year duration consisting of a five-year base ordering period followed by a two-year optional ordering period, starting from November 1, 2024, to October 31, 2031.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at Patrick Space Force Base, Florida.
