Adjunct Instructor & Tutoring for Haskell Indian

Background
The Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) is issuing this solicitation for Adjunct Instructor and Professional Tutoring Services for Haskell Indian Nations University (HINU) located in Lawrence, Kansas. HINU is a nationally recognized post-secondary institution dedicated to providing education to members of federally recognized American Indian and Alaska Native Nations.

The goal of this contract is to enhance academic persistence, retention, and success among American Indian/Alaska Native undergraduate students by providing qualified adjunct instructors and professional tutors who support academic excellence.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for recruiting, screening, hiring, and supervising adjunct instructors and professional tutors during fall and spring semesters and summer sessions. Key tasks include:
1. Recruitment and Credentialing: Ensure adjuncts possess appropriate credentials; adjunct faculty must hold a graduate degree in their subject area or a closely related field.
2. Employment of Adjunct Instructors: Employ instructors who meet the credentialing requirements set by HLC.
3. Tutor Staff Employment: Employ tutors with at least a bachelor’s degree in the subject area they are assigned to tutor.
4. Staffing Coordination: Receive staffing requests from the Office of the Vice President for Academics at least 45-60 days before each semester.
5. Maintenance of Recruitment Pool: Create and maintain a pool of qualified candidates to fill staffing gaps as needed.

Period of Performance
The contract will have a base year from January 1, 2025, to July 31, 2025, with four option years extending through July 31, 2029.
