ADC MK2   3

Current procurement requirements for the ADC MK 2 are designed for the United States Navy (USN) Submarine and Surface Fleet. The USN Fleet has a minimum sustainment inventory to support the Fleet and as such PMS 415 closely monitors Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) inventory requirements to adjust the acquisition of the appropriate quantities. This procurement action is based on the existing product specification, the USN ability to sustain fleet inventory, and projected Foreign Military Sales (FMS) demands.

The ADC MK 2 is a legacy ACAT III, Post Milestone C program initially slated for replacement in FY16 by the ADC MK 5, however delays in fielding the MK5 necessitated the on-going ADC MK 2 procurement. Current schedule estimates indicate phase out of the ADC MK 2 devices beginning around FY26.

Anticipated incidental services include non-recurring engineering (NRE), special analysis, trade-off and ad-hoc studies including software analyses; definition and implementation of improvements to delivered equipment; support of laboratory and special tests; analysis of Government-initiated engineering changes; hardware repair, refurbishment, and modification to support Government in water testing. Engineering services will be further defined through the issuance of Technical Instructions (TIs).

The preponderance of this requirement is for supply/production.
